About the Role
We're looking for a Lead HR Business Partner who can help build the foundations of a high-growth, high-performance culture while keeping our people operations lean, compliant, and scalable.
This is a hands-on, team-of-one role for someone who has operated in fast-moving SaaS environments, ideally from Seed to Series B. You'll partner closely with the CEO and department heads across France,Germany and UK, supporting everything from workforce planning and compliance to onboarding, performance, retention, and culture.
You should be comfortable switching between strategic business partnering and operational execution, building the structure we need without slowing the company down with unnecessary corporate processes.

What we're looking for
Must Have: Experience in a fast-paced SaaS startup or scale-up environment, ideally between Seed and Series B. Strong knowledge of HR operations, employment compliance, and people processes in France, with exposure to Portugal or multi-country European setups. Comfortable operating as a hands-on team of one, balancing strategic HRBP work with operational execution.
Nice to Have: Experience managing EOR providers, building employee handbooks or HR policies from scratch, setting up lightweight performance frameworks, and supporting workforce planning in a high-growth environment. Previous exposure to talent acquisition, sourcing, retention, or compensation benchmarking would be a strong plus.

What you'll do
- Act as the internal expert on people operations, employment regulations, and compliance across France and Portugal, ensuring our setup is scalable and legally sound.
- Manage relationships with EOR providers, payroll partners, and local employment/legal stakeholders to support our teams across different markets.
- Build our first employee handbook, policies, and people processes in a way that reflects our culture, startup speed, and local legal requirements.
- Design and own a strong onboarding experience that helps new hires feel welcomed, productive, and engaged from Day 1.
- Implement lightweight performance and growth frameworks that drive accountability, feedback, and high performance without unnecessary corporate "fluff."
- Partner with the CEO and department heads on workforce planning, headcount forecasting, hiring needs, contractor planning, and people-related budget visibility.
- Support compensation, benefits, and total rewards benchmarking to help us stay competitive, fair, and consistent as we scale.
- Help retain and develop top talent by identifying engagement risks, supporting managers, and creating practical people initiatives that improve employee experience.
