Position overview:

The Maintenance & Projects Manager ensures the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all plant equipment and facilities while leading maintenance, repair, and improvement initiatives. This role focuses on maximizing equipment uptime, optimizing production processes, controlling maintenance and repair (M&R) costs, managing spare parts and inventory, and delivering capital and improvement projects on time and within budget. By coordinating engineering, maintenance, and project teams, the manager drives operational excellence, continuous improvement, and value creation while fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with environmental, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Ensure plant equipment and systems operate reliably and efficiently. Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize uptime. Manage spare parts inventory to minimize downtime and support maintenance needs.
  • Plan, execute, and deliver capital and improvement projects on time and within budget. Coordinate with engineering and other plant teams to implement process or facility upgrades. Monitor project performance and ensure adherence to designs, specifications, and standards.
  • Control maintenance and repair (M&R) costs, optimizing resource allocation. Develop and manage maintenance budgets and AFEs for projects. Identify opportunities for cost savings and value creation through process optimization.
  • Foster and maintain a strong safety culture across maintenance and project teams. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality regulations. Monitor facility conditions to meet safety, food safety, and housekeeping standards.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance and project teams. Maintain positive labor relations and promote employee engagement and trust. Communicate effectively with plant leadership, engineering, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Track and report key performance metrics for maintenance, uptime, and projects. Identify areas for process improvement, efficiency gains, and reduced spoilage. Implement best practices and standardized procedures to drive operational excellence.


What we are looking for?
  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience.
  • Job related experience for 4 year(s) minimum.
  • Engineering and/or project management background preferred.
  • Technical and engineering skills: Knowledge of plant engineering functions and systems integration.
  • Ability to negotiate with contractors for facilities/buildings maintenance.
  • Ability to estimate, budget and prepare AFEs for capital projects.
  • Ability to develop and manage maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of utility systems, cost tracking, and conservation methods.
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance systems and documentation.
  • Fluent French and English.

    Position summary:

    You are responsble for leading a team of electrical and maintenance team members, managing the lifecycle of all support equipment and electrical resources, including execution of maintenance, process improvement and contracting with outside services. This role ensures the reliable and efficient operation of all electrical systems and support equipment within the plant to maximise production throughput, minimizing downtime, and sustaining high equipment availability. You drive operational excellence while ensuring safety, compliance, and optimal resource utilization across the plant.

    Your key responsibilities include:
    • Ensure Reliable Plant Operations: Maintain all electrical systems and auxiliary equipment to ensure high uptime, production throughput, and minimal downtime.
    • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop electricians and maintenance specialists, ensuring a skilled, high-performing team.
    • Maintenance Execution: Plan, prioritize, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
    • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and food safety standards.
    • Process Improvement: Identify and implement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Rapidly diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical problems to minimize production interruptions.
    • Resource Management: Manage personnel, tools, materials, and external contractors effectively to meet operational goals.
    • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment records, SOPs, and performance metrics.
    • Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and alignment with plant objectives.


    What are we looking for?
    • Technical knowledge of industrial electrical systems, support equipment, conveyance systems
    • Working knowledge of automation & controls
    • Knowledge of maintenance planning or work order systems
    • Ability to lead and supervise electrical and mechanical maintenance teams
    • Problem solving, trouble shooting and process improvement skills
    • Project management support for plant capital improvements, line speed alterations, conveyance changes and safety iniatives
    • Comfortable communication in written and spoken English

      Hiring Range: 57,750 - 80,850 EUR gross per year. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market benchmarks. Depending on these factors, the actual offer may fall above or below the posted range.
