MISSION

Reporting to the CEO, the Operations Director leads a team of 6 direct reports, and 300+ indirect reports to :

- manage the Operations Division and ensure that our safety, quality and performance targets are achieved so as to position the Company as a world-class RTS operator.

- establish and espouse standards and practices of the highest level throughout the Operation Division.

- ensure seamless travel for our customers that is safe, reliable, comfortable and friendly.

- manage the operations function within the financial controls and limits set by CEO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee and ensure the smooth running of the entire operations of the Gautrain.
• Ensure the application of the appropriate safety standards, rules and procedures for service delivery.
• Define rules & procedures and ensure its implementation to achieve smooth operations.
• Develop plans and strategies to continually enhance the standard of trains operations and customer service.
• Provide divisional objectives to his managers.
• Develop plans to optimise utilisation of resources and improve manpower productivity.
• Review annual budget, operations expenses and explain monthly budget variances.
• Ensure that the performance standards as laid out in the Licence and Operating Agreement with Province and all internal performance standards are met.
• Update CEO and Division Heads on performance indicators.
• Maintain good staff morale and job satisfaction and promote productivity movements in the divisions.
• Assume the responsibilities of the Transport Manager and Stations Manager during their absence.
• Any other duties as assigned.

EXPÉRIENCE ET COMPÉTENCES REQUISES

• Minimum 10 years of experience in railway operations with team management responsibilities.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of railway regulations and safety management
• Ability to adapt to international lifestyles and working methods.
• Strong team spirit.
