The Copenhagen Metro network in Denmark, whose first line opened in 2002, now consists of four fully automated lines spanning 43 km and serving 44 stations. Should our bid be successful, RATP Dev will establish a dedicated team to manage the transition of current operations and maintenance activities and deliver a 12-year operating contract. This is a full-time position based in Copenhagen, with an expected start date in S2 2026.
JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Managing Director, The Maintenance Director leads a team responsible for the planning, execution, and optimization of maintenance activities to ensure the reliability, safety, performance and asset condition monitoring. You will play a strategic role in overseeing the technical operations, managing resources, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to meet the organisation's objectives and contractual requirements, and enhance passenger experience.

You will play a strategic role in overseeing the technical operations, managing resources, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to meet the organisation's objectives and contractual requirements, and enhance passenger experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and objectives for the maintenance department aligned with the organization's mission and vision.
- Provide visionary leadership and direction to the maintenance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Establish performance metrics, benchmarks, and KPIs to monitor departmental performance, and ensure alignment with organizational targets.
Team Management and cross-functional collaboration
- Lead and manage the maintenance team of the four lines, maintainers, supply chain managers and engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages professional growth and professional development.
- Ensure close collaboration with the Operations team as well as with the Project & engineering team for both asset management and project coordination aspects.
- Define and implement robust processes and safety procedures, working closely with the HSQE Director.
- Coordinate with all stakeholders, partners, external consultants, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with our contracts and technical standards.
Maintenance & Performance Management:
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies, programs, and schedules to maximize the reliability and availability of transport assets, including rolling stock, signalling, telecoms, track, power supply, systems, and facilities.
- Define and oversee the procurement process for engineering services, equipment, and materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality assurance.
- Establish preventive maintenance plans and predictive maintenance techniques to improve service availability, minimize downtime and limit unforeseen disruptions, ensure quick turnaround times in case of failures and extend the lifespan of equipment and infrastructure.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and resource allocation plans.
- Monitor budgetary performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve cost targets, optimize resource utilization and identify opportunities for efficiency gains.
EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree in transportation management, business administration, engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 15 years' experience in public transport operation with a proven track record in maintenance, preferably in a GoA4 environment, including 10 years in an executive position.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking, analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize competing demands in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in engineering and maintenance operations
- Ability to thrive in multicultural and high-performance environments.
