Post-Doctoral Research Visit F/M Post-Doctoral Research F/M in energetic cost of fault-tolerant quantum computing

Inria
Nancy, Grand-Est 54000, France CDI

Mission confiée

The MOCQUA team at Inria Nancy is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in the theory of quantum computing.

The project aims to analyze how the energy consumption of fault-tolerant quantum computers scales with the size of quantum algorithms, particularly in regimes where computation is optimized for energy or power efficiency rather than qubit or gate counts. In practice, the researcher will model energy exchanges and noise dynamics in typical quantum hardware, in collaboration with physicists. They will then integrate these models into the fault-tolerant architecture, in collaboration with a PhD student, to derive scaling laws.

The project will involve numerical simulations, analytical calculations, and physical modeling.
