Ground and Space Operation Engineer

We provide a significant contribution to the most major Space programs of the European Space Agency, EUSPA and other Telespazio Groups. Our core business is to work on the ground to build bridges into space, contributing to the success of ambitious missions.

We will soon be looking for a highly enthusiastic Ground and Space Operations Engineer who will work in Toulouse, France.

Candidates must be eligible for a security personal clearance from an EU Member State national security administration

What is expected from you:

The role supports EUSPA in monitoring and ensuring the performance and reliability of EGNOS operations, with a focus on service performance, anomaly resolution, maintenance coordination, and compliance with operational baselines.

Service Performance Monitoring
  • Monitor ESP activities related to service performance degradations, particularly those linked to operations and maintenance (e.g. preventive/corrective maintenance, site issues, RF/network interference, power, system configuration changes, ESR deployments).
  • Ensure that preventive and corrective measures are in place to mitigate risks to service performance.
  • Verify that, in case of degradation, the ESP:
  • Acts promptly to restore nominal performance
  • Implements actions to prevent recurrence
  • Review operational KPIs and ensure alignment with performance targets.

Anomaly Management Support
  • Support the end-to-end anomaly management process, especially for issues related to operations (sites, logistics, ageing, obsolescence).
  • Contribute to the handling of urgent anomalies, coordinating closely with ESP to ensure timely investigation, resolution, and deployment of fixes.
  • Monitor corrective actions and ensure proper follow-up until closure.

Maintenance and Interface Coordination
  • Facilitate effective coordination between ESP and the V2 Product Maintainer, ensuring smooth execution of maintenance activities.
  • Support the exchange of services and information defined in the V2 Maintenance Interface Control Document (ICD).
  • Contribute to activities related to:
  • NAV Chain maintenance
  • L3 anomaly management support
  • System configuration updates

Deviation and Change Management
  • Assess the acceptability of Requests for Deviation/Waiver (RFDs/RFWs) related to EGNOS operations (e.g. SLA, SoW, SECOPS, Sites baseline, LEO).
  • Review Document Change Proposals (DCPs) impacting operational requirements.
  • Participate in Engineering and Change Control Boards, providing operational expertise and supporting decision-making.

Coordination and Reporting
  • Review relevant sections of Service Performance Monthly Reports (SPMRs), including operational KPIs and activity-specific inputs.
  • Participate in Service Performance Meetings, ensuring alignment between stakeholders.
  • Maintain close coordination with EUSPA teams, ESP, and other stakeholders, ensuring consistent monitoring and reporting of operational performance and issues.
