Context & Environment

Integrated Power Modelling (IPM), in OneTech Technical Line Power, supports the company's technological ambition in the digitalization of renewable energies value chain.

It brings together cross-domain expertise (scientific and digital) to deliver digital products with the goal of maximizing both the performance and value of renewable assets (solar, wind, energy storage). It is built around four platforms, each oriented toward internal business clients (GRP, REN, FPI, Trading, etc.):Origination & Design, Grid Integration, Operations Performance & Optimization, and Forecasting.

Each platform isstructured into three teams: Product Solutions (PS), Research & Capability Development (RCD) and Software Delivery& Operations (SDO).

The Grid Integration platform products focus on numerical tools aiming at optimizing the connection of our renewableassets to the electrical grid. We tackle real-world challenges from network constraints, curtailment risks to electricalstandards and regulatory compliance. It incorporates physics-based models connected to various data streams(weather forecasts, power demand, and more) with strong data/cloud integration.

Activities

  • Perform load flow, short-circuit, harmonic, contingency analysis, and other steady-state studies using internal and commercial tools to assess system performance and compliance.
  • Conduct RMS and EMT dynamic simulations to evaluate system stability, control behavior, frequency response, and grid code compliance under various conditions.
  • Analyze grid constraints, congestion, curtailment risks, and performance across different scenarios to support informed technical and economic decisions.
  • Develop Python-based automation to streamline model preparation, simulations, and data processing, improving overall efficiency.
