We are currently seeking an HR Payroll & Operations Specialist to own and deliver accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations across France and the Netherlands while providing broad HR generalist support throughout the employee lifecycle.

At ARIS, payroll is not a back-office function; it is a cornerstone of the employee experience and operational integrity. In this role, you will be the go-to expert ensuring our people in France and the Netherlands are paid correctly, on time, and in full compliance with local regulations. Reporting to the Global Payroll Manager, you will sit at the intersection of Payroll, Finance, and HR, collaborating closely with external payroll providers, business managers, and employees at all levels. This is a role with real scope and visibility: you will not only run day-to-day payroll operations but actively shape how we improve and standardize our processes across the region. If you are a payroll professional who enjoys variety, values precision, and thrives in an international environment, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing, people-first organization, based at our vibrant Paris La Défense office.

Essential Functions:
  • Act as the primary HR owner for payroll activities in France and the Netherlands, coordinating monthly processing with external payroll providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Validate payroll inputs and outputs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
  • Manage payroll-related employee inquiries and resolve issues effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor law, payroll regulations, social security, and tax requirements across both countries.
  • Maintain employee records and HR master data with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Support audits, payroll reconciliations, reporting, and compliance activities.
  • Coordinate benefits administration and employee documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization of payroll and HR operational processes.
  • Support HR reporting and analytics, including headcount, turnover, absences, and workforce metrics.
  • Support onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding processes.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employees and managers on day-to-day HR matters.
  • Coordinate employee representative and works council-related activities in France.
  • Support compensation & benefits processes, performance management, and annual HR cycles.
  • Assist with policy implementation, compliance initiatives, and HR transformation projects across the region.

Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll, HR operations, or HR administration.
  • Strong, demonstrable expertise in French payroll processes and compliance.
  • Solid understanding of French labor law, social security, and tax requirements.
  • Proven experience working with external payroll providers.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve complex payroll discrepancies.
  • Proficiency with HR systems, payroll platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Based in or able to commute to Paris La Défense; this is a hybrid role.

Nice to Haves:
  • Experience supporting payroll operations in the Netherlands, including familiarity with Dutch labor law and compliance requirements.
  • Dutch language skills.
  • Experience supporting HR operations across multiple European countries.
  • Exposure to works council processes and employee representative frameworks in France.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary package with specific country benefits
  • Hybrid work model (3 days in the office)
  • A critical, hands-on role in a transforming HR Operations environment
  • High responsibility combined with a pragmatic, operational focus
  • The opportunity to actively shape HR operations and payroll-input processes in a modern HRIS landscape
