This six-month off-cycle internship gives you the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues on meaningful, real-world transactions shaping the French and European market. You'll build technical skills, contribute to live deals and gain hands-on experience as you support the team across a range of ongoing projects.

What role will you play?

Our Paris Country Coverage team, part of Macquarie Capital, covers infrastructure, business services, technology and healthcare sectors, primarily advising upper mid-cap and large-cap clients on M&A transactions. The team operates in a highly international environment, working closely with other Macquarie offices on cross-border transactions, with a strong focus on sell-side mandates.
As an off-cycle intern, you will be fully integrated into the team and involved in live transactions, gaining hands-on exposure to the full deal lifecycle whilst sitting alongside experienced professionals. Your responsibilities will include:
- Financial modelling and valuation
- Contribution to origination efforts, including preparation of pitch materials, marketing documents and sector analysis
- Participation in execution of mandates, including drafting presentations, supporting clients and advisors in due diligence processes and data room organisation, tracking investor discussions and offers, and overall monitoring of transaction processes
- Preparation of research materials, market updates, sector overviews and relevant industry trends
You will have the opportunity for significant client exposure and responsibilities, developing strong technical, analytical and advisory skills in a collaborative environment.
We are looking to fill internship places from January 2027 and March 2027.
What you offer

- You are in your final or gap year of a top engineering or business university, or graduated within the last year with an excellent academic record.
- A solid understanding of financial advisory processes, valuation, accounting, and financial modelling
- Previous internship experience in private equity, M&A or deal advisory
- Clear and confident communication skills with fluency in both English and French
- Strong motivation and enthusiasm, with a proactive mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to integrate quickly and build effective working relationships in a team-oriented environment
