The Manager Civil / Structural Engineering is responsible for leading the Structural Engineering discipline, ensuring the successful delivery of structural engineering services across multiple projects. This role combines technical leadership, resource management, people development, and operational oversight to support the execution of complex pharmaceutical, biotechnology, semiconductor, and advanced technology projects. The Manager Structural Engineering drives engineering excellence, develops high-performing teams, and ensures alignment with Exyte's business objectives.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and manage the Structural Engineering team, including recruitment, mentoring, performance management, and employee development
- Allocate resources across projects and ensure effective workforce planning and forecasting
- Oversee structural engineering activities throughout all project phases, ensuring quality, schedule, budget, and client requirements are met
- Provide technical leadership and maintain overall accountability for structural engineering deliverables
- Support proposals, project planning, estimating, and project execution strategies
- Identify project risks, opportunities, resource needs, and technical challenges, and drive effective solutions
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineering Managers, Discipline Leads, and Construction teams
- Lead discipline coordination meetings and provide regular reporting on project and department performance
- Promote engineering best practices, continuous improvement, innovation, and standardization across the discipline
- Support multidisciplinary project execution and ensure successful coordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to business growth through client engagement, technical leadership, and proposal support
Show your expertise
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, semiconductor, life sciences, or high-tech facilities
- Proven experience leading structural engineering teams and managing multidisciplinary projects
- Strong experience with EPC, EPCM, Design-Build, and industrial project delivery models
- Experience in structural steel, reinforced concrete, foundations, and complex industrial structures
- Professional Engineering registration or equivalent certification is considered an advantage
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
- Strong commercial awareness and project management understanding
- Experience with structural analysis and design software such as STAAD.Pro, RAM, TEDDS, Enercalc, Robot, or similar
- Ability to manage resources, priorities, and multiple project demands simultaneously
- Experience working within international and multidisciplinary teams
- Fluent English and French required
