Founded in 1961, Yves Saint Laurent was the first fashion house to introduce the concept of luxury ready-to-wear, creating the 'Rive Gauche' line in 1966, synonymous with youth and freedom. This represented a crucial first step in the modernization of fashion and revolutionized the socio-cultural landscape.
In 1999, the luxury division of the Kering Group acquired the house of Yves Saint Laurent and, under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello since April 2016, continues to position it at the pinnacle of the luxury universe.

As Merchandise Planner, you will play a pivotal role in driving global sales planning, inventory optimization, and reorder management across product categories. This role is responsible for developing accurate sales forecasts, supporting strategic merchandise decisions, maximizing inventory productivity, and ensuring alignment between business opportunities and supply planning.
The position works closely with Collection, Retail & Digital Merchandising, Regional Buying, Supply Chain, and Production teams to achieve financial targets and support global business growth.

PROFILE
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Merchandise Planning, Buying, Finance, or a related analytical function, preferably within the luxury or premium retail industry.
• Experience working in an international and multi-channel retail environment is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights and recommendations.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, planning tools (e.g., Anaplan), and business intelligence platforms.
• Solid understanding of merchandise planning, forecasting, inventory management, and financial planning.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decision-making across functions.
• Commercially minded, proactive, results-oriented, and detail-focused, with the agility to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and a solution-driven approach.
This position is available on a regular basis and is based in Paris.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
BEST ESTIMATE SALES PLANNING & FORECASTING
- Develop and maintain seasonal and carry-over sales forecasts based on historical performance, market trends, inventory flow, and business objectives.
- Lead monthly Best Estimate reviews with regional teams to ensure forecast accuracy and business alignment.
- Build and continuously refine sales plans to support inventory investments, open-to-buy management, and growth opportunities.
- Provide actionable recommendations on sales performance, forecast evolution, inventory requirements, and seasonal trends.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and identify key business drivers impacting performance across regions and channels.
BUSINESS PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
- Monitor global business performance by category, collection, product line, function, region, and channel.
- Analyze key performance indicators to identify risks and opportunities and support proactive decision-making.
- Prepare Best Estimate sales projections, business insights, and reorder recommendations for monthly Merchandise Planning meetings.
- Develop scenario analyses to support strategic business decisions.
REORDER PLANNING MANAGEMENT
- Define monthly reorder requirements based on sell-through, inventory availability, forecasted demand, and distribution strategies.
- Develop reorder forecasts and stock projections to support both seasonal and carry-over production planning.
- Partner with Merchandising teams to support product life-cycle management, carry-over strategies, and assortment optimization.
- Coordinate with Production and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely product availability.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
- Monitor inventory levels globally to ensure healthy stock coverage and inventory productivity.
- Proactively identify inventory risks, including stock shortages and excess inventory, and recommend corrective actions.
- Drive inventory optimization through allocation, replenishment, and stock-balancing strategies.
- Support achievement of inventory targets through continuous monitoring and performance analysis.
CROSS FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
- Collaborate closely with Collection, Retail & Digital Merchandising, Regional Buying, Supply Chain, and Production teams.
- Align forecasts, inventory strategies, and business priorities across global markets.
