Alta Ares is a deeptech startup founded in 2024, building real-time AI for defense operations - ISR, C-UAS, and autonomous systems. Our clients are NATO-aligned militaries and defence institutions, with regular deployments during live exercises and operational demonstrations. We raised €2M seed in May 2025, 50M in June 2026, and are expanding fast.

Role & Mission

As Marketing Manager, you will be Alta Ares' first dedicated marketing hire - owning the full marketing function from brand positioning to lead generation. You will work hand-in-hand with the Sales and Engineering teams to build awareness in the defence ecosystem, generate qualified pipeline, and establish Alta Ares as a credible, category-defining voice in AI-enabled defence.

This is a high-ownership, builder role: you will set up the foundations, own execution, and iterate fast.

1. Brand & Thought Leadership
  • Define and maintain Alta Ares' brand identity, tone of voice, and messaging across all channels
  • Position Alta Ares as a trusted authority in defence AI, C-UAS, and ISR through targeted content and executive visibility
  • Coordinate CEO and leadership visibility: LinkedIn presence, interviews, speaking slots at key defence forums
  • Develop customer-facing narratives that translate technical capabilities into operational value for military audiences
2. Content & Social Media
  • Own the editorial calendar and produce high-quality content: articles, white papers, case studies, product sheets, and presentations
  • Manage Alta Ares' LinkedIn and other relevant channels - growing a defence-focused audience
  • Produce post-event content, field reports, and demo recaps to amplify field activities
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product to create technically accurate, credible content
3. Events & Exhibitions
  • Own the full events roadmap: planning, logistics, materials, and on-site coordination
  • Manage Alta Ares' presence at major defence exhibitions (Eurosatory, DSEI, MSPO, DVD, Milipol, etc.)
  • Coordinate demo setups, booth design, briefing materials, and stakeholder meetings in collaboration with the Sales team
  • Track and report on event ROI and pipeline generated
4. Demand Generation & Lead Gen
  • Build and run outbound and inbound marketing campaigns targeting European MODs, NATO bodies, and defence primes
  • Develop and manage the marketing funnel: from awareness to qualified lead handoff to Sales
  • Own email marketing, newsletters, and targeted outreach campaigns
  • Track KPIs (MQLs, CPL, pipeline contribution) and iterate based on data
Candidate Profile
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in B2B marketing, ideally in defence, deeptech, dual-use, or aerospace
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute a marketing strategy in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience managing events and trade shows end-to-end
  • Strong content production skills - comfortable writing for technical and institutional audiences
  • Familiarity with defence procurement culture, military users, or institutional stakeholders is a strong plus
  • Experience in a startup or scale-up is a significant advantage


Skills & Qualities
  • Excellent written English (French is a plus)
  • Strong project management skills - autonomous, rigorous, and able to juggle multiple priorities
  • Creative with a data-driven mindset: you measure what you build
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, high-velocity environment with limited resources
  • High discretion and understanding of the sensitivity of the defence sector
  • Entrepreneurial spirit: you build from scratch, own your work, and move fast
