Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Engineering Lead to drive the technical transformation of our core backbone system, which supports critical business capabilities including contract administration, technical accounting, retrocession, sub-ledger.

This role sits within the CTO Core & Group organization and reports to the CTO. It plays a key role in SCOR's transformation agenda, leading the technical evolution of a legacy monolithic platform into modular, cloud-native, domain-driven core services aligned with our target enterprise architecture.

This is a multi year major transformation program driven by strategic initiatives and will enable a product driven operating model.

The Engineering Lead, (focusing on the how) will co-lead the initiative alongside the Delivery Lead ( focusing on the what), ensuring strong alignment between business priorities and engineering

execution. In this context, the role focuses primarily on technical leadership, solution architecture, and delivery excellence, while the Delivery Lead drives functional and business dimensions.

The position operates in a highly transversal environment, working in close collaboration with business domain CTO (P&C, L&H, Finance), AI, Data, and Analytics teams to promote a data-driven architecture and AI-first engineering practices.

The services delivered will be designed as enterprise-wide capabilities, consumed across multiple business domains including P&C, L&H, and Finance, requiring strong alignment and collaboration across the organization.

Responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Co-lead the transformation with the Delivery Lead, ensuring alignment between functional priorities and engineering delivery
    • Own the engineering dimension of the initiative, including solution architecture design, development practices, and delivery quality
    • Lead hands-on engineering activities, ensuring robust, scalable, and maintainable implementations
    • Drive the transformation of the existing monolith into modular, domain-aligned, and reusable core services
    • Promote data-driven and AI-first architecture principles, in collaboration with AI and Data teams
    • Design and execute migration and decomposition strategies ensuring business continuity and no operational risk
    • Ensure that developed services are scalable, resilient, and reusable across domains
    • Collaborate with cloud, platform, DevOps, and enterprise architecture teams to ensure alignment with SCOR standards and target architecture
    • Act as the primary technical counterpart to the Delivery Lead, bridging business needs and engineering solutions
    • Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement


Qualifications

Required experience & competencies

  • Technical :


Proven experience in legacy system modernization and transformation (monolith to modular or distributed architectures)

Experience drafting solutions applying agentic SDLC.

Product innovative, with experience in building AI augmented business services or tech operations

  • Strong Engineering Background (10+)
    • Strong expertise in distributed systems, API design, and integration patterns
    • Hands-on experience with cloud-native platforms (Azure preferred) and modern engineering practices
    • Mastering of data-driven architectures and collaboration with Data / Analytics teams
    • Proven experience of AI-assisted or agentic development approach.


  • Delivery & Transformation
    • Proven track record in delivering complex transformation programs
    • Experience defining and executing migration strategies in critical systems
    • Ability to manage dependencies across multiple systems and domains


  • Enterprise & Collaboration
    • Experience working in large-scale, multi-domain environments
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with business, domain, and transversal teams
    • Experience operating in a dual leadership model (Engineering Lead / Domain or Product Lead)

    • Strong hands-on leadership with the ability to lead by example
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities

Required Education

  • Degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or a related analytical field; or equivalent experience.
