Context & Environment
The role:
- Primarily operating within Exploration & Production (E&P) and Gas Renewable and Power (GRP) environments
- Highly transversal role with both internal and external stakeholders
- Interfaces with engineering, operations, digital teams, and external contractors
- Representation of the Company in international organizations and conferences
This role requires a strong ability to influence, convince, and engage stakeholders at multiple levels.
Activities
In this role, you will be a key contributor to the Company's development strategy by delivering high-value Production Availability and reliability studies across a broad perimeter (E&P and Renewable).
You will lead a team of 3 engineers and play a central role in:
- Ensuring the robustness and quality of reliability data
- Delivering critical studies (Availability, SIL, HIPS) that directly influence design decisions
- Driving the evolution of the in-house GRIF software suite
Your expertise will have a tangible impact on project performance, safety, emissions, and investment optimization.
You main activities will be:
- Support to Affiliates and Projects
- Lead and validate Production Availability Studies (PAS) and reliability studies across the development study and project lifecycle
- Conduct end-to-end studies: data collection, modeling, analysis, and results communication
- Provide actionable recommendations to optimize performance, cost, and CO₂ emissions
- GRIF Software Suite Development
- Ensure continuous alignment of GRIF with Company standards, IT requirements, and industry best practices
- Drive the evolutions and developments of GRIF into new domains (Renewables, LNG, hydrogen, CO₂, hybrid systems)
- Supervise subcontractors involved in development, training, and support
- Communication & Knowledge Transfer
- Promote best practices across Projects and Operations (e.g. PAS methodologies, reliability data usage)
- Represent the Company in international working groups (ISO/TR, industry forums)
- Contribute to knowledge dissemination through teaching, publications, and conferences
- Methods & Innovation
- Identify needs and develop new methodologies or modeling approaches
- Lead or contribute to R&D initiatives (design, testing, validation, deployment)
- Promote internal expertise through seminars, events, and technical communities
- Team & Resource Management
- Supervise engineers, junior staff, contractors, and trainees
- Ensure development and knowledge transfer within the team
- Technical Referential
- Draft and update Company guides and manuals
Candidate Profile
For this position, you need to have:
- An engineering degree or PhD in a quantitative field (probability, statistics, applied mathematics)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering studies and reliability
- A strong experience in:
- Reliability modeling (FMECA, fault trees, Markov models, Monte Carlo, Petri nets)
- Software development roadmaps
- Proficiency in GRIF is advised
- A strong understanding of industrial facilities design and operations and knowledge of reliability, risk, and accidentology
- An experience with databases and data-driven approaches
- Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities
- Ability to work in complex and multicultural environments
- Strong team spirit and commitment to knowledge sharing
