The Role

The Business Development Manager is responsible for expanding the brand's presence throughout France by developing meaningful relationships with architects, interior designers, and industry professionals.

Acting as a trusted advisor to architects, designers, and trade professionals, this individual combines business development, project coordination, and design consultation expertise to build strong, long-term client relationships that drive repeat business and brand loyalty.

As a key representative of the Paris showroom, the Business Development Manager provides tailored product recommendations and design solutions, delivering an exceptional client experience with the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and service.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about interior design, building a brand, and growing market share. Must be fluent in French and English, both written and verbal.

When not traveling to meet with clients, this role will be onsite in our Paris showroom. Must be available for some Saturday hours.

Responsibilities

Business Development
  • Develop and grow business across France by building relationships with architects, interior designers, and industry professionals.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities and maintain a strong pipeline of projects and prospects.
  • Manage and strengthen partnerships with showroom partners and key stakeholders to achieve sales objectives.
  • Represent the brand through client meetings, presentations, industry events, and targeted marketing initiatives.
  • Develop and execute territory business plans, including sales forecasting and performance reporting.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership and cross-functional teams to drive market growth and brand awareness.
Client Development & Project Support
  • Build long-term client relationships through a consultative and service-oriented approach.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, recommending products and solutions that support client design objectives.
  • Support projects from specification through order fulfillment, ensuring a seamless client experience.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client engagement across the full product portfolio.
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve issues and ensure timely project execution.
Showroom & Operations
  • Serve as a brand ambassador based in the Paris showroom when not traveling within the territory.
  • Welcome and support showroom visitors, creating an exceptional customer experience.
  • Manage client activity, opportunities, and project information through CRM tools.
  • Coordinate quotations, sample requests, orders, and delivery follow-up.
  • Participate in regional meetings and contribute market insights, client feedback, and business updates.
  • Operate with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to the brand's standards of excellence.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management within a premium or luxury brand environment.
  • Experience working with architects, interior designers, or the design and construction industry; knowledge of bathroom, architectural, or interior products is an asset.
  • Proven ability to develop business, manage client relationships, and achieve commercial objectives.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills with a consultative approach.
  • Ability to identify client needs and recommend tailored solutions.
  • Skilled in negotiation and influencing decision-makers.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently within a dynamic environment.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience.
  • Proficient with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout France and represent the brand at client meetings, showroom events, and industry functions.
  • Fluent French required; professional English preferred.
  • Requires travel up to 60% (client visits, etc.)


€45,000 - €60,000 a year

This role has a basic annual salary plus generous commission plan.

Waterworks may require physical requirements within its Showroom locations as follows:

Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items up to 25 lbs. while utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques. Ability to maneuver effectively around showroom floor, stock room and office. Position could entail periods of standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending and climbing. Licensed to drive preferred. Ability to travel locally or out of state.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, pull/push, climb and balance, and to be elevated up to 20 feet in the air on harnessed equipment. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 110 pounds with assistance from one other Associate and use of proper technique. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
