About the Role

Production experience required. Builder mindset non-negotiable.

Salesforce is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers - experienced Technical Builders who design, build, and deploy agentic AI solutions directly inside enterprise customer environments. You'll work as part of a delivery team, partnering closely with a Deployment Strategist (Strategic Builder - a customer-facing advisor who shapes AI strategy and drives adoption) to co-build solutions that go live in production environments from day one. Engagements range from a single large strategic customer to multiple accounts simultaneously. The common thread is real code, real environments, and measurable business impact. This work spans configuration, customisation, and full-stack deployment - shipping solutions customers depend on.

The Builder Experience

• AI-Powered Development: Ship real customer solutions, supported by best-in-class AI tools - Cursor, Claude, and Salesforce coding products like Vibes - embedded into your day-to-day workflow.
• Collaborative Delivery: You'll work alongside Senior Forward Deployed Engineers and a Deployment Strategist. You'll own real components, benefit from structured mentorship from people who've shipped agentic systems at scale, and have a clear path to leading complex deliveries yourself.
• Frontier Access: Our agentic AI platform is evolving in real time. You'll work on capabilities most engineers won't touch for months - spanning Agentforce, data, platform, and headless architectures and your field insight will feed directly to the product teams building them.
• Continuous Innovation: You'll be expected to stay at the forefront, experimenting with emerging AI tools, models, and frameworks, and sharing what you learn with your team and customers.

What You'll Actually Be Building

• Develop AI agents and experiences that take real actions for real organisations. Our solutions are in production at some of the largest enterprises on the planet. The work matters because the customers depend on it.
• Design agent intelligence: prompts, reasoning, tool calls, and integration with customer systems, leveraging our Agentic AI platform and current LLM techniques.
• Own technical components end-to-end: from architecture choice to deployed, validated, and observable in production.
• Build and integrate data pipelines on Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, Databricks, and customer data platforms. Model the data, ship the pipeline, validate the output
• Build and maintain agent performance dashboards and customer KPI reporting to track deployment health and business outcomes.
• Contribute to proofs-of-concept and MVPs that move from sketch to deployable in days, not months.
• Co-build alongside customers and partners, sharing best practices and enablement as you go. Leaving teams more capable after each engagement than before.
• Surface platform gaps, edge cases, and field insights to senior Engineers and the product team. Your real-world experience is the product feedback loop.
• Partner with the Deployment Strategist in your pod to translate customer business challenges into agentic solutions that actually ship.

You're Our Forward Deployed Engineer If...

• You have 3+ years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, with at least one production system you'd be proud to walk us through - ideally in an AI tech stack, full-stack development, or working with frontier models
• You have a degree in Computer Science or a related field
• You have prior customer-facing technical delivery experience (consulting, professional services, or forward deployed engineering) - this is a requirement, not a nice-to-have.
• You're fluent in at least one of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex - and willing to add to that list as the work demands.
• You've been hands-on with LLMs and prompt engineering. You can explain why a prompt failed and what you'd change.
• You understand data modeling, APIs, and integration patterns deeply enough to design them, not just consume them.
• You can hold your own in a room with sales teams and customer architects.
• You ship quality code and evaluate AI outputs with engineering rigor.
• You actively tinker with the evolving AI/data landscape - piloting new tools, experimenting with new models, and staying genuinely curious about what's coming next.
• You thrive in the group chat that's building something, not just talking about it.
• You're excited to travel ~25% of the time, working directly alongside customers.

Nice-to-Haves

• Salesforce platform experience or certifications (Administrator, Platform Developer I, Agentforce Specialist)
• Familiarity with agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex) and orchestration patterns
• Hands-on with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)

• Développer des agents IA et des expériences qui effectuent de vraies actions pour de vraies organisations. Nos solutions sont en production chez certaines des plus grandes entreprises de la planète. Ce travail a du sens, car les clients en dépendent.
• Concevoir l'intelligence des agents : prompts, raisonnement, appels d'outils et intégration avec les systèmes clients, en s'appuyant sur notre plateforme d'IA agentique et les techniques LLM actuelles.
• Prendre en charge des composants techniques de bout en bout : du choix d'architecture jusqu'au déploiement, validé et observable en production.
• Construire et intégrer des pipelines de données sur Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, Databricks et les plateformes de données clients. Modéliser les données, livrer le pipeline, valider le résultat.
• Construire et maintenir des tableaux de bord de performance des agents et des rapports KPI clients pour suivre la santé des déploiements et les résultats métier.
• Contribuer à des preuves de concept et des MVPs qui passent de l'ébauche au déployable en quelques jours, pas en mois.
• Co-construire aux côtés des clients et partenaires, en partageant les bonnes pratiques et en les montant en compétences au fil des missions. Laisser les équipes plus capables qu'à votre arrivée.
• Remonter les lacunes de la plateforme, les cas limites et les retours terrain aux ingénieurs seniors et à l'équipe produit. Votre expérience du terrain est la boucle de feedback produit.
• Collaborer avec le Deployment Strategist de votre pod pour traduire les enjeux métier clients en solutions agentiques qui aboutissent réellement.

Vous êtes notre Forward Deployed Engineer si...

• Vous avez 3 ans ou plus d'expérience en ingénierie logicielle ou en livraison technique, avec au moins un système en production dont vous seriez fier de nous faire la démonstration - idéalement dans un stack IA, du développement full-stack, ou en travaillant avec des modèles de pointe.
• Vous êtes titulaire d'un diplôme en informatique ou dans un domaine connexe.
• Vous avez une expérience préalable de livraison technique en contact client (conseil, services professionnels ou forward deployed engineering) - c'est une exigence, pas un simple atout.
• Vous maîtrisez au moins l'un des langages suivants : Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java ou Apex - et êtes prêt à enrichir cette liste au fil des besoins.
• Vous avez une expérience pratique des LLMs et du prompt engineering. Vous êtes capable d'expliquer pourquoi un prompt a échoué et ce que vous changeriez.
• Vous comprenez la modélisation des données, les APIs et les patterns d'intégration suffisamment en profondeur pour les concevoir, pas seulement les consommer.
• Vous êtes à l'aise pour vous imposer dans une salle avec des équipes commerciales et des architectes clients.
• Vous livrez du code de qualité et évaluez les résultats de l'IA avec une rigueur d'ingénieur.
• Vous explorez activement l'évolution du paysage IA/data - en testant de nouveaux outils, en expérimentant de nouveaux modèles, et en restant genuinement curieux de ce qui arrive.
• Vous vous épanouissez dans le groupe de discussion qui construit quelque chose, pas seulement qui en parle.
• Vous êtes enthousiaste à l'idée de voyager environ 25 % du temps, en travaillant directement aux côtés des clients.
