About the Team
The team is currently composed of 4 senior GL underwriters, 2 Junior underwriters and one Manager.
Purpose of the Role
LSM is currently looking for the replacement of one Senior GL Underwriter leaving the company in September 2026. The primary responsibility of this role will be to underwrite business in accordance with the business plan and within delegated underwriting authority.

About the Team

Purpose of the Role
LSM is currently looking for the replacement of one Senior GL Underwriter leaving the company in September 2026. The primary responsibility of this role will be to underwrite business in accordance with the business plan and within delegated underwriting authority.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of the annual business plan for the Underwriting division by making appropriate decisions
- Contribute new ideas and concepts to support the development and delivery of the business plan
- Establish and strengthen and develop relationships with customers, brokers, business partners, reinsurers and colleagues to aximize influence and achieve business objectives
- Help in the review and analysis of the portfolio, to identify progress towards business objectives
- Actively participating in European meetings, whilst seeking cooperation with other departments within the company
- Ensure the Casualty line of business is administered within set compliance and UWing procedures
- Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. LSM expects you to understand your responsibilities relating to all regulatory and internal requirements, and to proactively demonstrate compliance with these requirements and behaviours at all times. These requirements include the Senior Managers and Certification Regime Conduct Rules, Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing.
Skills and Experience
- Capacity to write and summarize complex topics
- Extensive of experience in GL/Casualty Underwriting
- Fluent in English and French
- Proven knowledge of relevant market conditions for specific class/portfolio
- Good knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements
- Good knowledge of Liberty (including Group) underwriting process and procedure
- Good knowledge of relevant Liberty underwriting systems
- Thorough understanding of class specific underwriting and reinsurance knowledge
- Use of risk profiling and pricing tools and loss models
