Valeo's Valeo Power Division combines expertise in thermal energy management and powertrain systems, reducing pollutant emissions and maximizing vehicle autonomy.
Valeo's Site located in Cergy, is Valeo's Power Division Headquarters. It employs over 800 people working on the development of electric powertrain systems (inverter, onboard charger, etc.).
As part of Valeo's strategic push into the high-growth markets of data centers and battery energy storage systems (BESS), we are seeking an Expert Power Conversion Engineer M/F.
As a leading technical expert, your role will be to balance technological innovation, quality, and cost control while sharing your expertise with our global teams.
Your responsibilities :
About you :
You hold a master's degree (Bac+5) in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Applied Physics, and have at least 15 years of professional experience in R&D or engineering in the field of power conversion or complex electrical systems.
You have worked in sectors such as the automotive industry, data center infrastructure, BESS, energy, or high-tech industries, and have developed strong skills in power electronics and energy conversion (AC-DC, DC-DC, high-efficiency topologies).
You are proficient in problem-solving methodologies (such as QRQC) and technical risk management. You are familiar with issues related to intellectual property (patents) and Design-to-Cost.
Curious and recognized for your interpersonal skills and team spirit, you take on a mentoring role to share your knowledge and help teams grow.
You have a strategic vision and a strong innovative spirit.
You are fluent in English.

Your responsibilities :
- Lead the technical execution of major, highly innovative engineering projects (disruptive architectures, etc.)
- Develop and validate new design standards for the Data Center & BESS Power Conversion business
- Identify innovation opportunities and oversee the patent filing process to protect intellectual property
- Challenge the technical decisions made by project teams to ensure the highest level of product reliability
- Establish budget strategies, validate critical cost assumptions, and ensure competitive design choices
- Serve as the point of contact for resolving critical issues and ensure sustainable solutions across all platforms
- Work in synergy with other engineering disciplines (thermal, mechanical, software)
- Build strategic relationships with our key clients (hyperscalers, AI companies, BESS operators) and represent the technical vision to steering committees and senior management
- Participate in the execution of the digitalization strategy (automation, optimization of tools and processes)
- Mentor, coach, and develop the technical skills of junior and senior engineers
