Context & Environment

Join TotalEnergies and contribute to advancing the understanding of depositional systems and reservoir architecture within a global geoscience community. You will support exploration, appraisal, and development projects across a wide range of geological settings and sedimentary basins.

You will work closely with geologists, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers to characterize depositional environments, sedimentary architectures, and reservoir properties in support of exploration and field development studies.

Activities

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Characterizing siliciclastic and carbonate depositional environments.
  • Interpreting core, well log, outcrop, and well data.
  • Contributing to reservoir characterization and modeling studies.
  • Developing depositional and stratigraphic frameworks.
  • Assessing reservoir heterogeneity and connectivity.
  • Integrating sedimentological, stratigraphic, petrophysical, and seismic data.
  • Contributing to the evaluation of exploration opportunities.
  • Developing predictive geological models.
  • Investigating diagenetic processes and their impact on reservoir properties.
  • Collaborating closely with geological, geophysical, and reservoir teams.

Candidate Profile

You hold a PhD in Sedimentology, Stratigraphy, Geology, or a related discipline, with 3 to 7 years of experience in industry or applied research.

We are seeking candidates with expertise in at least one of the following areas:

  • Siliciclastic sedimentology and depositional systems
  • Carbonate sedimentology and reservoir characterization

You have:

  • Experience in siliciclastic and/or carbonate sedimentology.
  • Experience in the analysis and interpretation of fluvial, deltaic, coastal, turbidite, and deep-marine depositional systems.
  • Experience in the characterization of carbonate platforms and reef systems.
  • Experience in depositional systems analysis and stratigraphic interpretation.
  • Experience in reservoir characterization.
  • Experience integrating sedimentological, stratigraphic, petrophysical, and seismic data.
  • An interest in digital tools and quantitative methods applied to geosciences.
  • Professional proficiency in English (C1 level).
  • Willingness and ability to undertake national and international assignments.

You are recognized for your ability to apply your sedimentological experience to a broad range of subsurface characterization challenges and to progressively expand your contribution across the geoscience disciplines.
