Operations | Trading Operations Intern | Paris

Flowdesk
Paris, Île-de-France 75000, France CDI

At Flowdesk, we are building the infrastructure powering the next era of global finance. As a full-service digital asset trading and technology firm, we provide liquidity solutions, OTC trading, and market infrastructure that connect digital assets to global markets with institutional-grade precision, transparency, and scale. Flowdesk combines expertise from traditional finance, algorithmic trading, and blockchain technology to deliver always-on trading capabilities across the digital asset ecosystem.

Founded in 2020, we are a global team supporting institutions, exchanges, and token issuers to enable a tokenized financial markets ecosystem.

Why join Flowdesk? You'll be joining a company operating at the intersection of finance, technology, and crypto; solving complex market problems, building critical infrastructure, and helping shape how digital assets connect to global liquidity. We move fast, think long term, and work with a strong ownership mindset across engineering, trading, product, operations, and business teams.

Trading Operations sits at the center of Flowdesk's market infrastructure. The team is responsible for the routes, tools, and controls that let our trading desks operate safely and efficiently across dozens of venues, 24/7. As a regulated financial institution operating in digital assets, we hold our operational infrastructure to the same standard as the top-tier market makers and trading firms we compete with - every route, every automation, every reconciliation has to hold up under institutional scrutiny.

As a Trading Operations Intern, you will work directly with the team managing this infrastructure - trading route governance, transaction authorization, exchange account lifecycle, and the reporting that keeps our desks and our risk function informed in real time. This is not a support role - you will own concrete pieces of the operational stack, write the automation that removes manual risk, and be expected to flag issues before they become incidents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the management of trading routes, automation, and transaction authorization, and help evaluate the tools and external providers used across the trading stack.
  • Build and maintain automation for trading workflows and contribute to safeguarding client and firm assets.
  • Facilitate communication between Trading, Risk, and Client Success, provide operational tools, and support the streamlining of client deployments.
  • Help maintain the databases underpinning trading operations, contribute to system interoperability, and support the management of security tools.
  • Generate PnL reports and support fund deployment processes and reconciliation.
  • Support the opening of exchange accounts and the management of fees and aggregation feeds.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field (MBA or relevant certifications a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of cryptocurrency exchanges and liquidity venues (spot/derivatives), OMS/EMS, FIX/REST/WebSocket APIs, and blockchain fundamentals (wallets, custody, fees, confirmations).
  • Excellent understanding of risk management and security protocols in the cryptocurrency industry.
  • Strong Python skills are a must (data wrangling, automation, monitoring, and reconciliation tooling); proficiency with SQL and at least one additional language (e.g., TypeScript/Java) is a plus.
  • Experience building operational dashboards, alerts, and workflows; familiarity with version control (Git) and basic CI/CD is advantageous.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, 24/7 market environment; sound judgment under pressure and strong ownership mindset.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and process-driven; able to improve and document controls and procedures.
  • Regulatory/compliance exposure highly desirable (KYC/AML, Travel Rule, market abuse surveillance, licensing regimes).
  • Comfortable working occasional non-standard hours to shadow the desk during market-critical periods, within the limits set by the internship agreement
