HR Business Partner, Retail - France (H/F)

We are currently recruiting a Retail HR Business Partner to join the French HR Team based in our Paris office. You will be reporting into the Senior HR Manager but will partner closely with Store Operations and the wider HR and Labor Law team to deliver HR services for our store populations.

This is an opportunity for someone with strong HR generalist experience in a retail environment, who enjoys partnering closely with stores, supporting managers on people topics, and ensuring HR practices are applied consistently and in line with French labour requirements.

What you will be responsible for:

BUSINESS

  • Provide day-to-day HR support to store operation team within their area of responsibility


  • Ensure all HR policies and tools are properly applied in their area through regular store visits and HR audits, in line with country's legal requirements, and provide communication and training on this when required.


  • Participate in defining store organization in their area


RECRUITMENT

  • Participate in store recruiting campaigns together with Store operations team and Talent Acquisition team


  • Support implementation of recruiting processes and tools in the business, and ensure line managers' education, training and coaching


  • Deliver the UMC recruitment program at the local level by supporting candidate attraction, conducting interviews, extending offers, and driving continuous improvement through new ideas and process enhancements.


PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT

  • Assess and identify employee development and training requirements


  • Support the implementation and monitoring of training plans, including delivering training sessions


  • Coordinate store-level evaluation and promotion processes


  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies that enhance employee engagement and motivation across the organization


INDIVIDUAL EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

  • Be the main point of contact for all employees' relation issues in their stores


  • To act as a coach to line managers and employees


  • Handle disciplinary cases in cooperation with relevant departments/ partners


EMPLOYEE REPRESENTATIVES AND RELATED MATTERS

  • Ensure smooth relations with employee representatives and external institutions (labor inspection, labor doctor) when necessary


  • Assist the team in preparing labor institutions meetings, participate in meetings, when neoooo


  • Make sure legal rules are properly communicated, known and applied within the business. Alert management when not respected


HRIS

  • Help maintain accurate HRIS data, investigate and resolve data issues by identifying root causes, and implement corrective actions in partnership with relevant departments.


  • Train in-store HR administration members, and store operations teams on proper HRIS data management and conduct regular audits to maintain data accuracy.


OTHERS

  • Constantly strive on improving processes and tools to support business in the most effective and flexible way


  • Work with HR team across EU to ensure consistency in policies and improvement of the business

Skills, Experience and Attributes:

  • Master's degree in HR Management, Business, or a related field.


  • Previous experience in HR, ideally within a retail environment.


  • Experience working in a global or international business environment.


  • Strong ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the business.


  • Excellent listening, communication and coaching skills, with a customer-centric mindset.


  • Highly organised, flexible and resilient, with strong project management skills.


  • Proactive, business-focused and results-oriented, with strong work ethics and integrity.


  • Fluent in both French and English (verbal, reading and writing) language is essential


  • Travel to Regional Stores is required 2-3 times a month
