As a Payroll Specialist, you will deliver a proactive, employee-focused, and professional payroll service. You will play a vital role in the Finance and HR teams by ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration across multiple regions. Your responsibilities will encompass tasks related to payroll processing, compensation administration, and compliance with local regulations. You will work closely with HR Business Partners, employees, payroll providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all payroll processes.

What you'll do:
  • Own the end-to-end monthly payroll process for France, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing.
  • Collect, validate, and process payroll inputs including salaries, deductions, benefits, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and social security contributions.
  • Manage and validate DSN (Déclaration Sociale Nominative) submissions and related statutory reporting.
  • Review payroll calculations, payslips, and outputs to ensure accuracy and compliance with French legislation.
  • Process employee lifecycle events including new hires, terminations, contract changes, salary updates, benefits, and statutory absences.
  • Coordinate payroll closing activities and ensure timely salary payments and distribution of payslips.
  • Support sickness, maternity/paternity, paid leave, and other statutory absence processes.
  • Act as a key point of contact for employees, HR, Finance, and external payroll providers, resolving payroll queries and discrepancies.
  • Prepare payroll reports, support audits, and maintain accurate and confidential payroll records.
  • Support payroll system improvements, testing, integrations, and process optimization.
  • Stay up to date with changes in French payroll legislation and best practices.


What we're looking for:
  • 3-5 years of hands-on payroll experience, with a strong focus on French payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of French payroll legislation, labor law, social security contributions, taxation, and DSN reporting.
  • Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, SAP, Sage, Silae, or similar.
  • Experience in a multi-site, retail, or international environment is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Fluent French and professional English communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, meet strict deadlines, and manage workload peaks.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
